When you think about this topic, I have to be honest with you, there is not much difference in dating men or women for anyone. The only immediate difference is women are much more sensitve then men typically are. Although when you are first getting to know someone you must try to impress them with being yourself and not putting on an act.

So many times when you are getting to know someone they are putting their best face forward and hiding anything they do not want you to know about. The best thing to do when you are getting to know anyone being a friend or a potential partner. is be yourself. Sooner or later the true you will shine through so don't hide anything. You want the person to like you for you, and not who you are pretending or portraying to be.

When you are a lesbian or a bisexual you want to make sure the potential parter you are attempting to court is also a lesbian or a bisexual woman. Getting to know someone is the first step you need to make in order to get to know them. Talk to them and if you are unsure whither they are lesbian or bisexual then ask them if they would like to get some coffee. Simply asking them out for coffee is a friendly move and will allow the two of you to talk and find out about each other without the pressure of it being a date.

When you are dating anyone there are certainly some things you want to avoid at all costs. You never want to look like a fool on a first date, at least wait until the third or fourth for that. By then you two may already know how you feel towards each other and feelings may be forming. Here are a few things you want to steer clear of.

If you are totally new to the lesbian scene and are wondering where to go to meet other lesbian women, then think of the clubs in your area. If that is not your scene you can always place an ad on the internet, newspaper or other form of dating service. If you are very shy and are having a hard time doing either of these things then simply go on and get out there. Find things you like to do and you never know who you will meet.

Make sure you are approachable so others will not have a hard time walking up to you. There are many people going through what you are going through at this very moment and always remember that.
