How to apply makeup

Want the perfect make-up routine that will get you out the door in 15 minutes flat? In 5 simple steps you can have a perfect daytime face. Then, in 3 more steps make your daytime look a sexy nighttime look!

1. Primer

The perfect primer I've found is Sephora Photo Finish. However, it is $45 so if you can't afford that, then there are a couple other products you can use instead. Neutrogena makes a great tinted moisturizer that works great and Aveeno makes a whole line of products for face that will even out your skin tone and complexion.

Primer is one of the most important parts that most people overlook when doing makeup. Before you paint a blue room yellow you don't just start painting! You have to prime first to ensure the yellow stays on and that none of the blue shows through. When you use primer, your make-up stays on and you don't have to take time during the day to re-apply.

2. Face

The most important thing to remember is NEVER use your fingers when applying any make-up. If you use your fingers this will put oil onto your face. This will cause make-up to run.

A.) If you have imperfections or dark circles under you eyes. Apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your own skin. Use a concealer brush and dab (don't rub) it in.

B.) If you use a liquid foundation, apply it with a brush. This will ensue that you don't waste any product. Start at your hairline, making sure that you don't leave a line and go all the way to your chin, blending well at the jaw line.

If you use a powder, apply it with the sponge that it comes with. Do the same as if you were apply liquid except apply with the sponge using circular motions. This blends the powder in very well.

C.) Adding color to your face is important so using a large blush brush, apply blush or a light bronzer directly underneath you cheekbones. This will really highlight your cheekbones. Hot colors for 2008 are pinks, corals, and mauves.

3. Eyes

A.) Using a thin eyeliner brush, smudge eyeliner as close to the lash line as you can. I use an eyeliner brush whether applying pencil, powder, or liquid liner. Different colors besides black especially make eye colors pop! Chocolate browns are perfect for blue eyes, purples make brown eyes pop, golds and navy blues make green eyes stand out, and hazel eyes really brighten with forest green liner.

B.) For the most effective, quick pop to open up your entire face, use black mascara. To apply, use the wand and get it as close
