When we were younger than we are today,
I thought your arms were my perfect refuge.
Then you went your way and I went mine,
Building our own separate shelters from the storm.
Gradually we grew together again and I knew
That with you in my world I would not be alone.
Years blew by like calendar pages
As we grew older and drifted in and out,
Our lives like grapevines intertwined.
I can't be sure that you will be there every day
But I know nonetheless that you are here to stay.
