The NFL Draft is over and Training Camps will be starting soon so of course it's about time to look towards next year for those of us who are Fantasy Football addicts. As a guy who has won multiple Fantasy Football championships and makes his playoffs annually I have become an expert on making the best picks in drafts while weighing all the most important factors.
So here it is, an early take on the first two rounds of a 12 team draft. Of course, pending injuries and new signings these rankings can change before the start of the year.
1. LaDanian Tomlinson - still a no-brainer at #1. Most consistent every year and always the go to guy who'll get 1500 yards and 15 TDs.
2. Adrian Peterson - young, quick, strong and fast. He will get many more touches and is a threat to get 2000 rush yards. 15-20 TDs very likely.
3. Stephen Jackson - Injury plagued 2007 season disappointed owners last year but he's healthy again and finished the year nicely showing he has recovered fully. 2000 all purpose yards and double digit TDs easy.
4. Brian Westbrook - staying healthy led to a breakout season last year. He has always been explosive and aside from McNabb is the most important part of the Philly offense.
5. Clinton Portis - incredible season last year bouncing back from injury plagued season could become even better as the new Offensive Coordinator wants to get him even more involved in the offense. Scary potential and could be argued as a top 3 pick.
6. Joseph Addai - when he was on last year, he was on. But disappointed a bit late in the year, and suffered an injury that kept him out of a couple of important weeks for fantasy owners in the playoff push. Should bounce back with the all purpose skills.
7. Peyton Manning - overshadowed by Brady last year but still threw 30 TDs and has the same offense. Always steady.
8. Frank Gore - new Offensive Coordinator Mike Martz is a pass happy coach, but Gore's numbers shouldn't be affected since a guy named Marshall Faulk had his best seasons under that type of offense. Gore is expected to be more active in the passing game.
9. Larry Johnson - a tricky one since he hasn't showed that he has fully recovered from his injury. He could move up or down this list depending on his status going into the season and how his rehab is progressing but this is a generous spot for someone who was pounded with so many carries for two years running.
10. Tom Brady - MVP last year and has almost all the weapons coming
