Nearly 8,750 miles east of Miami- in Gaza, Israel- a modern genocide is taking place. As I express these words, people in Gaza are going without electricity, sleeping in fear of dying before they awake once again, being taken away from their family, separated from their homelands, not to mention those who are, at this moment, dying (Maan, par.2). Last year alone, around seven hundred Palestinian citizens died (Ilan Pappe, par.2), and just what are they dying for? Are they dying for a country's freedom, for peace and harmony in the region? No, not even close. They are dying because of the filthy greed of the Israelites. Palestinians have been dying because the Israelites want to wipe out their kind and build a larger Empire. My question is: What are we doing as a country to stop this? And for that matter whose side are we on?
Sure the United States claims to be a peace-driven country. We act like everything is fine and dandy. We take care of our selves, and we even take care of those countries that we hurt. In fact we take action to create peace in other places outside of our boundaries. We sometimes even meddle into other issues concerning other countries. But if this is true how come the Israelites are still attacking Gaza. How come we haven't withdrawn our weaponry trade with Israel?
That last question is scary isn't it? The truth is, nobody really thinks about who supplies the Israeli military with arms such as F-16s (Fassed par.4). The truth is we do help the Israelites kill those people. However, ignorance or not, the U.S still supplied 1.8 billion dollars in military aid (Fassed par. 3). That's one-sixth of the money spent on foreign affairs.
If this doesn't make you a believer, just take a look at all the latest technology that Israel is using for these attacks. The F-16 seems to be a popular topic in this subject. It seems that these jets (first built for the U.S Air Force) have become an important weapon in the attacks against Gaza. In fact it is stated that Israel has around 200 of the jets, it has become the second leading owners of these jets next to the United States itself (Fassed par.4). Other weapons being sent to help Israeli's against the Palestinians include the AH-64 Apache and Cobra attack helicopters, missiles and other heavy arms (Fassed par.5).
To top it all off we aren't the only ones that are keeping military ties with the Israel's army. There have been reports of other countries, allowing Israel access to their military technologies.
