No Victory for the War in the Iraq War

It is only a personal decision, to join the military or to stay a civilian. It is usually suggest to those who have no idea of what they would like to do after high school or they drop out all together, having no direction, to go join the military."Enjoy the benefits you gets and it will help you gain confidence, until you have your goals set in life. For some, this is a military career, and that is nothing to look down at. It is also a wonderful way to have a second income during these recession times, as a guard. This choice as in a career is something to be proud of.

You can count on your steady income, and retirement after twenty years, later if you do guard. You will never be rich in income, but it will be a good income. The military always deserves more money than they get. In addition, even at active, guard and retirement, there will be increases in pay. It is the special ties, which link all the members together, every time you change tours. It is a tight group, like family."

This said, this a lot of nonsense the recruiters will tell your child in order to get them signed up, they have quotas too. Seniors at high schools will be visited and encouraged. The truth is, this war is a badly ran war. There is no victory in this, we went in for all the wrong reasons and have overdone what has been accomplished as it is. This is an oil war and a civial war.

We cannot win this. Every time there is a government established, their President and staff are killed. We cannot protect them, we have too much trouble protecting ourselves. Their army is corrupted and no one knows who to trust. It is a mess out there. And in the middle of election year, I do not see anyone helping out our soldiers who are doing their duties as they have promised the United States they would. No one is watching out for them.

If you have a son or daughter who wants to join the military, it is their right to do so. But please, let them know what their risks are. The military is not what it use to be. I only hope someday, it will be again and we will be of of Iraq.

Staying on in Iraq, would only mean more fighting, more losses and more money and weapons which do not always reach our own soldiers. Leaving Iraq will only put us at risk for terrorists and high gas prices. But this will be true should we stay there anyway. There is no win, only more loss. In war, no one wins, there is more truth to this now, than before.

Remember; we went there because of weapons of mass destruction, which were suppose to be everywhere, though we did not find anymore than a handful. We went to war because our President Bush wanted war. He lied, a lot of people lied. Let's leave the country in their own environment, leaving them to choose to decide and build their country. It is what they want and the least we can do.

The result of what will become, will be continuing rise in gasoline prices. We should have expected, and we can choose alternatives if anyone gets going on this. Mostly what we lose is the respect as a country we held among the other parts of the world. But, the loss of lives, the huge, loss of lives are what awe will miss the most and we cannot choose alternatives for this.

It is honorable to be a member of the military and I pray for the men and women who serve for us. They are underpaid and overworked, under all kinds of odds. Watch your children, do not let the recruiters tell them, lies or manipulate them into signing because the enlistment is low. They will visit your senior children, and make many promises, malarchy promises they do not intend on keeping. Help them understand what they will get into, then take time before a signature is made.
