Poetry: Sinking

by Eric Hansen

Created on: May 08, 2008

My body becomes weak with anger,
Even as my soul is energized with the cleansing poer of hate.
Never before have I held such contempt for human life.
Such entropy, like and insatiable hunger.
I fight myself no longer.
I seal my fate in the darkness, closing the door behind me.
Sealing myself from the light,
From joy, happiness, peace.
Moving ever forward into the darkness,
Further, deeper, blacker, no return.
I know now only hate, vengeance, malice, sorrow and pain.
