Every year hollywood releases a wide variety of movies, extending from crime, horror, action to drama, fantasy, romance. I have been a movie buff ever since I can remember anything. I have realised that the number of fantasy movies forms a major portion of all the movies released year after year. Take the example of Harry Potter series which has gained so much popularity among not only children but adults also that the director has been making a movie for each and every book of harry potter. Despite the fact that the actual protagonist in the movie is getting older and doesn't really appeal to children, the movie has not lost its popularity since it appeals a lot as a fantasy movie and people are mesmerized the magic and other fantasy stuff in the movie. Similarly Lord of the Rings has also gained a tremendous popularity and fame among the masses. Still if you start comparing the best fantasy movies, I am not sure if we can make such a clear partition among them, since a lot of them will be best in one way or another.

As per my view, final fantasy movies have been the best since its animation but once you start watching the movie you completely lose sense of the fact that its an animation movie and not a real movie. The graphics and the use of technology in this movie is awesome and exemplary. Other than this, I would say Lord of the rings and the Harry potter will the next ones in my list. Thereafter we can go on adding movies like, Star wars which has extended over a series of 7 movies and still is one of the favorites for most of the people. Then there can be movies like Superman, Batman, Its a wonderful life which being a fantasy movies also blends a lot of emotion in it. For most of the fantasy movies, adventure forms the core of the story since people associate fantasy with adventure and thus most of the movies that I mentioned and the ones that you like, will have an adventurous angle to it and won't just be another movie with a typical drama. Making fantasy movies with drama in it is an art and most of the directors are not versed in this kind of art. Also the directors make movies which should appeal to the masses and an adventurous fantasy movies is always a safe bet. I hope to see a lot of other fantasy movies in the future and I am desperately waiting for Incredible Hulk, The Chronochiles of Narnia-Prince Caspian etc. The technological aspect of these movies is also something which attracts me to them.
