While we shouldn't seek to dominate world politics, it's in the interest of all, we use our political, economic, and human resources to shape them. The world looks to us for leadership in dealing with the growing problem of terrorism, and a general instability very much similar to what the world faced in the 1930's, as Adolf Hitler came to power. Many of the same strategies and tactics being used to terrorize today, were being used in the 30's by the Nazi party.

The United States is positioned, as no other, to make a difference worldwide. Turning our back on the world, or giving up our leadership role, would leave a dangerous vacuum which could be filled to the detriment of all. We can either positively shape events, or in isolation, be at the mercy of events, to our, and the world's peril.

Pryor to the outbreak of the Second World War there was a powerful isolationist movement in America limiting President Roosevelt's ability to intervene on the side of Brittan, France, and other European countries at Hitler's mercy. It was Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor, and Hitler's subsequent declaration of war on the United States, which finally allowed Roosevelt to over come this isolationist movement, bringing America's full force to bare on the side of the Allied Powers.

Two of the primary reasons for intervention were: if Nazi Germany defeated Russia, Hitler would control 2/3 rds of the world's resources, laying open the Middle East for domination, making Germany a threat to the entire world. At the same time, if Communist Russia moved through Europe unchecked, the result would be much the same. In any case, it would have been catastrophic for the United States and the world.

Just as Hitler's Germany was a major threat to world peace, so it is with countries such as Iran, Syria, and large elements of Pakistan, who benefit from organizations like Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda. A striking comparison is shown between Hitler's SA, SS, and these proxi organizations; the Germany of the 1930's and the Iran of today; all warning, and wanting to exterminate the Jewish race, albeit for somewhat different reasons, yet, both using the Jews as a scapegoat.

Hitler's storm troopers terrorized Germany, helping to create the violence and chaos that were instrumental in his rise to power. Like wise, radical forces inside Iran, Syria, Pakistan, and others, benefit from the violence and instability caused by terrorist organizations in the Middle East and around the world.
