One quick conclusion: The USA is, in the majority, a Democratic nation run by Democrats. I say this because they presently hold power in Congress and the fourth estate-the news media-and there can be little doubt as to where they stand in the political spectrum. It seems that a conservative, no matter what party, doesn't stand a chance these days. But there are still many conservatives in the Republican Party ready to come out of hiding, and if we ever needed voices of reason, it's now.

Sen. Obama is a likeable person, an articulate speaker and a man committed. He, like his opponents, has a vision for America, but so do Senators Clinton and McCain: they just differ as to the method to get there. But Barrack's inexperience in Congress and the world scene, plus his long-time relationship with this so-called Rev. Wright, makes his true intentions suspect with me, and I'm sure, a lot of others. His economic plans are socialist at best, and as the rest of the world is moving towards a free-market system, along with flat taxes, socialism has been proven over and over again to be stagnation-in-progress. Even so, he has a shot, and Republicans have to be ready to pick up the pieces again after his tenure is over. If a Republican follows him in the White House, let's hope they can use a trashcan instead of a dumpster.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, named after the man who climbed Mt. Everest six years AFTER she was born, strikes me as an old-fashioned Marxist. Her fiscal policies will plunge us deeper into National Debt like we never seen before-it's inevitable. What she, like all liberals, can't grasp is that investment capital is like water; it flows the path of least resistance. If she is allowed to tax the oil companies, on what she considers to be excess profits to pay for her failed but well-meaning social programs, then no business operating in our country will be safe. They'll likely move their business to a friendly nation that will welcome them with open arms, and then where will we be? Once she lets that genie out of the bottle it will do irreparable harm to our economy. Do I see a Republican with a broom?

As you may have guessed by now, I'm a card-carrying Republican; always have been, always will be. Yet no President representing the GOP has disappointed me more than George Bush. His fiscal policies have made me stop and wince more than once, and his inability to rally his own party to his aid, at times, is almost laughable. Nevertheless, Al-Quida has only hit us
