2008 pickup trucks with the best gas mileage

2008 pickup trucks with the best gas mileage

As gas prices grow more every day the value of a fuel efficient vehicle becomes all the more apparent. There are many pickup trucks in the 2008 lines that were made with this desire in mind. It is admirable to see the industry acknowledge this issue even if some cynics might think they have only done so out of desire to cash in on energy cost conscious consumers. There are more and more gas efficient models to choose from every day. That said, even among those models intended for this purpose a few stand out more than others. The top models from 2008 in regards to fuell efficiency are as follows:

1. The Ford Ranger Pickup 2WD. This is a modest 4 cylinder engine with 2.3liter and manual shift. It averages twenty one miles per gallon in the city and an extra five per gallon on the highway.

2. The Mazda B2300 is another impressive model. It has the same exact specs as the Ranger and sells almost as well. In many parts of the country you can get it cheaper so if you are willing to take a slightly les sleek exterior you will get on eheckl of a bargain.

3.The Toyota Tacoma 2WD is worth mentioning here as well, even if it is not quite in the class of the top two most efficient SUVs. It has the advantage of being a 6 cyclinder engine but still only runs nineteen miles per gallon in the city, though it is basically the same on the highway with twenty five miles per gallon. A very efficient truck even if not in the elite portion of this categorey.

Nissan, Lexus, Saturn, Ford, Chevrolet, GMC and every other auto manufacturer has experimented with fuel effecient SUV models. I think the three listed above are by far the best and should be the first viewed by the discerning consumer who has energy costs at the forefront of hismind. Numbers don't lie.

Now make sure to take note of whether most of your driving will be on the road or in the city/suburban streets. For example if you are going to be on the highway most of the time you might consider the cheaper Tacmoa, which only gets one mile less per gallon than the elite pickup trucks on the highway and costs less. You will need to factor that into your decision.

There are many pickup trucks to schoose from but the models above are actually very costly compared to the value they have in terms of being the most fuel effiecnt models on the market. In this day and age where energy costs are becoming predominant having a vehicle like one of the ones listed above can be the difference between going on vacation and wishing you had the money.
