She sits in the kitchen sipping coffee at 3:a.m., he's left their bed again.
All she can think about is when will he return, will he be exhausted and how long will he stay this time? This has become such a routine that she doesn't ask him where he's going.
He tells his friends about her beautiful eyes and her sweet smile, she hears him from another room, yet never lets on. She wonders why he works so late and knows it's because of her. " Will this ever end or will she go to her grave knowing he loves her" she ask aloud to no one at all. Last night she thought to stop him, but was so tired that she didn't, how long can this go on? she wonders,
can i stand by for much longer night after night, while my heart breaks? she ask the air around her. yet she knows she will intervene soon, no longer able to with stand the pressure.
Her decision made, she moves quickly to put her plan into action. His time is up, no longer will he be beside her this night. He belongs in their bed, sleeping till morning brings yet another day. she thinks of how haggard he looks lately and tears come to her eyes.
She prepares herself for what she finds as she opens the door,it's as she knew all along. There he sits her on his lap! Warmth explodes from her chest as she takes in all that is there for her to see. Tears come to her eyes, and she knows he will always love her. With this she gently lifts their daughter from his sheltering arms and sends him to bed, but not before a kiss and i love you has passed between them. For now it's her turn to spend time with her, she is happy to do so and settles in....
