Her everyday attire is a space suit so that she can live in existence with her friends and she inhabits an oxygenated bubble complete with a tree and hamster wheel. Sponge-bob and Sandy enjoy their extreme sports, which may include skiing down the highest sand dune in Bikini Bottom or practicing karate When Sandy is not playing with Sponge-bob; she may be found hibernating while "winter" engages her protected environment.

Mr. Krabs also adds glory to Sponge-bob's life. He is Sponge-bob's boss at the Krusty Krab Restaurant and is nice enough to let Sponge-bob work as his fry cook 365 days a year. This character puts the most extreme penny pincher to shame. Mr. Crabs won't give up a nickel for his life, or anyone else's for that matter. This old lobster that dons a smashing blue shorts outfit, lives for money His character also represents the "father figure" of the bunch by offering advice, "don't go out when you see the hooks (fish) come down from above me boy, you'll never be seen again", or by just lending an ear when the porous sponge has a problem.

One more "little" character would be Plankton, Mr. Krab's nemesis. Plankton's one goal in each episode that he may grace is to get a hold of the secret formula for the famous crabby patty. This story line will continue to plaque poor Plankton because the audience knows, he will never obtain it.

SpongeBob SquarePants is widely original and fresh for a cartoon. The variation of characterization and story lines that lead to the interaction of these sea specimens is clever and entertaining. I would recommend it to any adult; oh and child too.
