Faerie Alliance: Chapter 5
Leaf Jumper groggily awoke to darkness; something was restricting his left wrist. Then the pain hit him. His wings felt like they were in shreds. His whole body ached. He felt weaker than he had ever felt before. But for the life of him he couldn't remember what had happened.
Slowly he began to see in the dense darkness that surrounded him. He became aware that he wasn't the only one in thisroom? No it wasn't even a room, it was an enclosure.
"Thank goodness you are awake!" a voice in said his head. "I have been slowly healing your wings. They were brutally damaged when you were captured."
"Thank you. Don't mean to be rude. Are you on my left or my right? What species are you? You don't feel like a faerie to me," Leaf Jumper asked as politely as possible. The pain was almost unbearable, and he could barely think about what he was saying.
The voice laughed softly upon his mind. "I am connected to the chain on your left wrist which is attached to the wall. That is the only reason I am able to help you. My name is Violet Eyes. What's yours little faerie?"
"Thank you Violet Eyes. My Faerie Meadows name is Leaf Jumper; in the human realm I am known as Lee. Sometimes I really wish I had never left Faerie Meadows. Right now is one of those times," Leaf Jumper mused out loud, the pain was still pulsing through him but with the aid of Violet Eyes it was easing slightly.
"Little faerie, I was taken from the Dragon Lands. Just goes to show that our sacred realms are not as safe as we would like to think," Violet Eyes voice was slightly bitter as she dwelled on her own thoughts. It wasn't easy taking a dragon by surprise, but that's just what happened to her.
She remembered how she had been taken by surprise and shot with a knock out dart. What had surprised her more was that they were all humans and she had wondered how a group of humans had been able to roam the Dragon Lands unsupervised.
Leaf Jumper went back to examining his surroundings; it appeared that they were the only ones in this enclosure. There was an awful smell penetrating the air. It recked yet was an unidentifiable bad smell. It was one of those smells that you could taste, it was simply awful.
"Do you have any ideas where we are?" Leaf Jumper asked into the silence that had fallen over them. The pain was slowly ebbing away as the seconds passed. He was thankful for Violet Eyes for relieving some of his pain.
"I know for sure we aren't anywhere in the Dragon or Faerie realms. I am
