Testimonies: Starting an Internet business at home

Newly divorced with two small children, I needed some way to make money that did not require breaking the law or shipping them off to a daycare I could not afford. Conversant with the internet and conscious of the fact that people could make money from home, I decided that I would join them.

The decision was not easy. How could I create an income great enough to support my family with no outside help? I did not know how people made money online. I knew nothing of websites and payment processors. All I knew was that I had to feed my kids and keep a roof over our heads.

Starting an Internet Business at Home - Education First

Before I could start raking in the dough, I had to struggle through tons of information about starting an internet business at home. It was overwhelming, but I gradually learned what was truth and what was hype. By studying anything that talked about online scams, I was able to avoid losing money or time to internet business opportunities that would not pay.

The majority of the information I found about starting an internet business at home came from forums and message boards. These virtual libraries of information have something that websites and blogs lack: interaction. On a forum, you can ask a question and get an answer - or many answers - usually within twenty-four hours.

Starting an Internet Business at Home - Less is More

There are thousands of internet businesses advertised on the web. Once you weed out the scams, there are still thousands to choose from. One thing I learned early on was to pick one internet business model and stick with it until it was profitable. Do not spread yourself too thin. And do not jump from business to business in an attempt to find easy money. You won't find it, and you will only frustrate yourself.

Starting an Internet Business at Home - Keys to Success

I started an internet business at home because I wanted to watch my children grow up, to raise them personally, and to provide for them at the same time. I had no choice but to succeed, so I had to readjust how I thought about some things from my days with an employer.

Do not be afraid to take a chance, but know it is probably the right chance before you take it. Never pay to get a job, but be prepared to spend money to improve your business. Do not look for the easy way out, but work hard every day and things will get easier. Starting an internet business at home is not all lounging on the beach in Cancun with your hot sports car parked nearby like the advertisements show. But it can be playing in the backyard with your kids while the reliable station wagon sits in the driveway.
