THOUGHTFUL CHRISTIAN GIFTS FOR TEENS

Romans 6:23 tells us, "The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." There is no way to compete with that, but by giving a Christian gift, you can help someone better receive what God is offering.

In choosing a Christian gift for teens, normal gift-giving rules apply, especially in regards to the difference between boys and girls. Girls are likely to be much more receptive to jewelry, a journal, or an inspirational plaque than boys. However, there are great Christian gift ideas that will be happily accepted by any teen.

BIBLE

What About It: That old standard doesn't have to feel old. Today there are Bibles marketed specifically for teens. These Bibles use simpler language, give explanations, and show maps and charts in order to help teens better understand what they read in relation to their lives. Looking for a more gender-specific Bible? Check out NIV True Image: The Bible for Teen Girls and NIV Revolution for Teen Guys. If the NIV is not the version you want, there is Axis: A KJV Study Bible for Teens. Also, the New Living Translation presents the NLT Manga Bible (Manga is a story told in comic-like pictures) and the NLT Metal Bible, a regular Bible with a decorated steel cover.

Try It: The Evan Almighty Devotional, written by pastor, Kevin Johnson, is based on ARK (acts of random kindness), as discussed in the 2007 movie, Evan Almighty. This devotional for teens suggests ways they can do ARK in their daily lives. A second devotional option offers an upfront style. With a cover designed to look like a confidential file folder, Can You Handle the Truth: 50 In-Your-Face Devotions for Teens, addresses such major issues as abortion, drugs, rape, and suicide with a
