There has been so much controversy when the subject of terrorism comes up among people. Many believe the only real terror in America is how our rights are slowly but surely being taken away. There are also those that firmly believe that terrorism is a problem and something needs to be done about it.
I remember where I was when the events of 9/11 happened. I was sleeping in my bed and was awakened by my friend who called to tell me to put the television on. I watched as the planes took turns into flying into the World Trade Center. I grew up in New York and was shocked to see something like this happen to my city. Not too long before this happened, I had a dream that I saw a plane crashing into homes down my street. The dream was so vivid and so upsetting that it was the first time I woke up screaming "God why!" Seeing the planes crashing into the buildings of New York was simply too much for me to bear and I turned the television off.
Since that day I have learned many things and have heard many things concerning 9/11. I have heard that our government had a lot to do with what happened. I have heard questions come about concerning the buildings that were believed to be set to fall since no building especially the Twin Towers were made to fall so quickly like a pancake. The questions about building 7 and how it fell when it wasn't hit and the questions about the plane that supposedly hit the Pentagon have all come to the forefront of some of the hot topics surrounding 9/11. There were also questions regarding who exactly was behind all of this. I get tired of thinking about it all. What my concern is why so many people had to suffer for such senseless things. Why have so many people died and continue to die for something that never had to happen? The whole thing saddens me deeply and I feel for all of those that have lost someone near and dear to them.
Terrorism in America will continue to happen no matter what our government tries to do. Terrorism comes in a form of people trying to defend what they feel is right. It is all a matter of how they go about it that will make them a terrorist, but our government tends to make someone that stands against what they say a terrorist. This is just not so. In America we are free to say what we think and free to fight for what we believe in. America is still available to those that believe in this country. Those that don't have belief in the power and ethics of this country have lost out to the war with our government and political figures that want control over our rights. They are terrorizing the very people they are supposed to serve.
