How to use the Internet to work from home

With high gas prices and an economic recession, people are constantly looking for easy ways to bring in some extra cash. There is nothing easier and more convenient than being able to work at home. All you need is a computer, internet access and determination!

There are plenty of websites that offer a way to work at home. The easiest way is through survey sites, such as MySurvey.com. On these sites, users take surveys to earn either cash or points. (The points can later be redeemed for cash.) Don't sign up on websites promising a free merchandise, as most of them are phishing schemes. Go with reputable companies, such as MySurvey.com, Greenfield Online and Viewpoints.

If you are a writer, then you will never be hard-pressed to find a way to work at home. There are a plethora of websites that pay people to write articles, reviews, blogs and more. All you have to do is dig a little to find these sites. A great work at home website with a job board containing information on where to find freelance jobs is www.freelancewriting.com. There are even websites that do not have to approve what you write in order for you to get paid! When on these sites, be sure to visit the community message boards to find other websites where you can work at home by writing. To get started, check out Associated Content, Demand Studios, Epinions.com and Helium.com. While these websites aren't advertised as "Work At Home" companies, that is where their writers come from.

Photography is another way to work at home, although it is a much more competitive field and a lot harder to break into than writing. Many websites, such as Shutterstock.com, offer photographers a venue to sell their work as stock photos to magazines, websites and other periodicals. Don't get discouraged if you get rejected at first. Keep trying until your work is accepted.

Many people think that selling their items online is too difficult and not worth it. Not true! A lot of people also believe that they don't have anything to sell. Also not true! It is amazing what people will buy, especially on auction sites such as Ebay. If you truly think you have nothing to sell, just open your closet door. What clothes do you no longer wear? Sell them! You would be surprised at what people buy. Don't be unrealistic- A shirt you purchased seven years ago for $45 won't sell for the same. Think of it as a yard sale, and be happy with what you earn. While there is a small fee to list items for sale, the risk is often worth the return and more. You can work at home by running your very own store, and clean out your house in the process.

Make sure you have a PayPal account, as this is the way that the majority of work at home companies pay. PayPal will take a small fee out of each transaction, so don't be surprised when you receive less than you thought you would. The fee is worth the convenience of getting paid quickly.

When it comes to working at home, the possibilities by using the internet are endless. Before getting involved with a website or company that you aren't familiar with, be sure to look up comments and reviews from other members. Make sure people can vouch for the work at home authenticity of a company. Unfortunately, there are a lot of companies that promise money and never deliver. Instead, they sell your information to make their own money. A little digging will ensure that you will not sign up with a scam site.
