This particular brand of the Mazda has been described as a "modern station wagon." Assembled in Hiroshima, Japan, belonging to the full size crossover SUV class, and with a six speed transmission, this full size delight should have much appeal to potential buyers.
The CX-9 is/was built on the Ford CD3 Platform. Having a striking appearance to the Mazda CX-7, this vehicle, however, lacks that vehicles' platform components. It is a front-wheel drive vehicle that comes with an option four-wheel drive system.
For the current modeling year, Mazda increased the engine displacement to 3.7 liters. Mazda boasts claims that the new engine produces 204 kilowatts (273hp) and 366 newton metres (270 ft-lbf) of torque. The engine went into assembly in June of 2007 (my birthday month) at Mazda's engine plant in Japan.
The 2008 CX-9 utilizes Aisin sourced six-speed automatic transmission, as I mentioned before. Also, it comes with a console-mounted shifter in an intricate gate.
Mazda has also brought out of the wood shed a Blind Spot Monitoring system (great for those who don't have optimal vision), and a Rear-view Mirror mounted Backup Camera System.
Being so impressive, the CX-9, won the prestigious Motor Trend SUV of the Year award, trouncing other competitors such as the Buick Enclave and Nissan Rogue.
The 2008 Mazda CX-9 also won the North American Truck of the Year award and the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year (January 2008). Its sister vehicle, Mazda CX-7, came in as the runner-up.
Unlike many other crossover vehicles, the CX-9 offers a spacious seven passenger seating. So, those with huge families, this will be the car of choice for you.
This comfy SUV will cost buyers in the range of $29,4000 to $35,000 dollars. To go along with the reasonable price (for such a new car) many will find that the steering and wheel handling on this car is light and precise, and that the brake response is quick and prompt.
It may not be as cool looking as any Beamers currently out there, but if you are looking for a car that is both affordable and reliable, then my friends, look no further.
The CX-9 also sports a 36 month Finance Rate at: 1.9%; and 48 Month Finance Rate: 4.9%.
Personally, I have never cared much for any cars produced by Mazda beforehand but this time I think that I will keep a more watchful eye out for the cars they come out with in the future.
