TRANSCENDING SUFFERING, SONNET#18
In suffering I have found my true self.
It connects me with universal life.
In poverty I have discovered wealth,
Inner harmony can be gained from strife.
A fire can function to burn and give light,
In sifting through ashes I find the truth.
Water can wash away the filth and blight
That disguises my perpetual youth.
I'll not avoid the struggle life offers,
For in it can be found a great treasure.
Before I can reach into its coffers,
I must undergo more than life's pleasures.
To partake of all of life is my aim,
Rejecting not joy, rejecting not pain.
