matters to your group. With dozens of buses, 12 monorails, and at least a handful of launches and riverboats, you have plenty of transportation options.
Tip #1: Every resort provides at least two ways to travel. Take advantage of one if the other looks crowded.
Tip #2: Be aware that the buses do not go directly from one resort to another; You will have stop at one of the parks, then catch another bus to your intended resort. Use a car instead, if you plan to travel between Disney resorts frequently.
Tip #3: Know your group's limitations when planning inter-park travel. The boats are quite secure and smooth, but if someone gets seasick easily, don't book at a waterfront resort. Similarly, if you despise bus air conditioning, or prefer train travel, book a resort along one of the monorail lines.
== Travel Agents ==
Professional travel agents are sometimes privy to industry information that the everyday traveler does not know, plus they are trained to get the best deal. Even if you consider yourself a master planner, think about using an agent.
Tip: Ask your travel agent to book everything together: Park passes, meals, and any other travel plans, as well as your room.
Why: It's less hectic than doing all that yourself. Plus, quality travel agents and agencies will tell you about options and warnings that perhaps you had not thought of, or come across.
Example: Disney and the American Automobile Association enjoy a great partnership that provides an efficient, smooth booking procedure for AAA members. The AAA travel agents are chosen for their Disney knowledge as well as experience with the parks and attractions. Many (if not all) are real live Disney fans, and proud of it.
If you are not a member of AAA, or if you live in another country, check with your national or regional travel agency to see if they offer special Disney packages. "Freebies" and discounts are also a great benefit when booking through preferred Disney travel partners.
== The Guide Book ==
"The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" (Bob Sehlinger, Macmillan General Reference USA, New York, New York) is a vital resource for any Disney-bound traveler. It features current critical appraisals of all Disney-related attractions, food, hotels, transportation, gifts, etc. and has been a best seller since 1986. The book is updated and reprinted annually, always containing comprehensive, field-tested information on not only Walt Disney World, but also other Orlando area hotels and attractions, including other amusement parks!
The Guide is a completely unbiased look at resort amenities, prices, etc. (in addition to rides, shows, tickets, and other facets of a Disney holiday) and offers tips, tricks, and unsolicited reviews from park patrons. You'll learn which attractions are worth getting a FASTPASS, which days are best for staying late, what to expect when waiting in particular lines, which restaurants have the best view of fireworks, and more. Written in a fun style, with easy-to-understand wording and clear but silly pictures, the Guide covers every Disney-related detail you could think of.
