Having always been interested in the uncommon and unusual things in the world, I was completely fascinated with a one hour show on television a few months ago about Bigfoot. I had seen a similar show once before and had wondered then why more information wasn't available. But after viewing this last show I decided to do some research of my own. I started by looking up web sites on sightings of Bigfoot, particularly in Texas where I live. Much to my surprise there were many!
My niece and her husband live in the edge of the Big Thicket here in East Texas in a very remote area that was once part of a large farm. He works shift work at a natural gas monitoring station out in the middle of nowhere. So, I called her and asked if Mike or any of his fellow workers had ever seen anything unusual going to and from work in the middle of the night. "Like what?" she asked me. "Well, like maybe a Bigfoot," I replied. She said she didn't know and would ask him. And, then she astonished me by saying, "But I've seen one."
I immediately begged her for details. She said that she and her two brothers were walking along a dirt farm road when a huge completely hair covered creature stepped out onto the road in front of them. It walked on two legs and stood staring at them, seemingly as surprised to see them as they were to see him. It was really tall, perhaps eight or nine feet, and they were terrified, being only nine, eleven and thirteen years old at the time. They all took off running away from him as fast as they could. He didn't pursue them and although they talked about it among themselves at times, they never told anyone else fearing that they wouldn't be believed. She told me to call her brothers and they would tell me the same thing.
I then called my daughter, who lives in Missouri now, and asked her about an incident she had related to me some years ago. She had been driving home after her night classes at the local college and passed what she thought was a large man who was walking along side the road. She said it took her a few moments to realize that it wasn't a man but rather a large bipedal primate. She had slowed down thinking to ask if he needed help, but when she realized that it wasn't human she took off as fast as she could. Sightings like hers are fairly common in that area and no one seemed to think it strange.
After having these accounts related to me and reading about every sighting I could find on the web I realized that we may indeed have a large bipedal primate
