Do you have a vision when you think of working at home? You're on a lounge chair on a tropical beach, fancy cocktail in one hand while leisurely typing with one finger on your lap-top with the other. Well, you're not alone thousands of people work from their homes and hold on to their dream because it's all possible.

The Vision

That vision in your head is important because it's your motivation. Hold on to it! That boss you dread working for is now you and you will be harder on yourself than any boss you've ever had. You will be rewarded by small successes and your vision will be the thing that keeps you going in your home based business.

The Information Highway

The dawn of the information highway has opened the doors to the world of working at home. You don't even have to be working at home; armed with a lap top with access to the Internet will allow you to work virtually from anywhere in the world.

It can be overwhelming. When you first type the words in the search bar "working at home" you are basically inundated by free work at home offers that are not free at all. There are literally hundred's of thousands of sites that will invite you to pay a fee for a list of opportunities. Others will invite you to buy their "how to work at home" material while another will show their bank deposits slips to illustrate how much money can be made. Filling surveys, forms, sending letters; it's all about having that magic list of companies that will pay to do these things as you work in your home. Many are legitimate, but checking for on-line blogs regarding these offers is the best thing to do before handing over money.

Come up with a Product or Service Idea

Get some form of a product or service you believe you can market working at home. Keep it simple. Remember you are working alone at home, so you will be required to do all of the required tasks. Search the Internet find competitors and look at what they offer. Looking at how much competitors are charging gives an edge when setting pricing. Remember you are able to discount, because you have reduced overhead costs in a work at home business.

Look for Free Advertising Opportunities

The Internet is full of free advertising opportunities for those who work at home. Understandably, if you are working at home, there is a limited budget. Free buy and sell sites are the best first start. Make your ad short and use powerful phrases that sympathize with a potential buyer. Try writing articles about what you are doing with your home
