ENGLISH SNOW
Cold glistening radiant,
a frosted beautiful icy gem;
shining white blue,
with a frozen drenched touch.
A reflective covered land
mirrors unmoved winter dreams.
Magical sparkling flurries
and ice wrapped streams.
Perfect, gleaming,
immaculate spotless snow.
Flakes floating,
spinning twisting,
not knowing quite
where to drift and fall,
or which way to go.
Lying flat and smooth
a wonderful shimmering
crystal blanket
See a tiny child's footprint,
innocence stamped
on unblemished, flawless, virgin snow.
A portrait of a chilled mid- winter
impressed on a pale mantle;
falling silent hushed,
reminiscent of a long time ago.

Poetry: Snow
Like the soft downy preening of a Mourning dove's wings,
it falls in the night while the night bird sings.
So softly it falls,
by Ethel Smith
White and fluffy,
soft yet hard,
it lays thick and cold
in your own backyard.
More flakes flutter down
to add to what's there,

SNOW
(WALKING ON A WINTER MORN)
I love walking on a snowy winter morning,
early, as the dawn breaks forth its light,
dazzling
Snow falls on the world
Time has come and gone
Life is frozen in ice
Immobile in time
Only silence remains.
Beneath the frozen
by Ron Tocknell
In cutting winds
The bare trees sway
The snowdrifts building higher
We've fuel enough
But for two days
Yet I'd give all to see
