These Ongoing Democratic Presidential Primary Elections

There is no doubt that Democratic Presidential Candidate; Senator Hillary Clinton is a resilient and extremely tough politician. Her toughness should be commended and appreciated. This toughness is needed in politics. While a politician should be tough, trustworthiness should also be a part of his or her repertoire.

According to many Americans, Senator Clinton is not trustworthy. The senator made several pronouncements on the campaign trail that caused many to come to that conclusion. Up to Super Tuesday, February 5, while she was leading in the polls on the Democratic side, Senator Clinton was seen by voters in a more positive light.
It seemed Senator Clinton thought she would have won the Democratic nomination on Tuesday, February 5. After losing several consecutive primaries and caucuses to Senator Barack Obama who took the lead in the primaries, Senator Clinton started playing real dirty. To use a hackneyed phrase of the day, she started throwing the kitchen sink at Senator Obama. If you were a visitor from another planet and heard of the squabble between both Senators Clinton and Obama, one would think they were already in the Presidential campaign. There is nothing wrong in being tough and aggressive. There is nothing wrong in attacking your opponent on the issues even if you are members of the same political party. It is wrong to personally attack your opponent especially a member of your own party. Is Senator Clinton trying to damage Senator Obama so he loses to Senator John McCain if he becomes the party's nominee for president? For sure, Senator Clinton has given the Republicans several unsolicited talking points to use against Senator Obama if he becomes the Democratic Presidential nominee
Senator Clinton is facing an uphill task of winning her party's nomination. It seems as though the senator will do and say anything to gain her party's nomination. Both senators have said they will unite behind the winner of the primaries because they want to win the White House in November.
Many are saying Senator Clinton should drop out of the race. But should she? Should she drop out for the sake of party unity? Were Senator Obama behind would he drop out to unite the party? One thing for sure, if the Democrats want to win the White House, they need to find a way to fairly end these primaries sooner than later. The party needs enough time to heal, regroup and rally behind its nominee.
