Amidst the controversy that the German car company went through on the chance of its very own Porsche Cayenne to grace its way in the SUV limelight, the latest model proved its promise and survived the speculations making it a top SUV choice this year. The vehicle struggled from the number of sales in 2002, a year after its introduction, but made its way to the market as sales shoot up to a positive 60% more in the year 2006.

Last year, however, was a resting state as the company did not release a 2007 model but it's not much an issue of company loss or unpopularity as they made a perfect comeback and regained the international market with the release of 2008 Porsche Cayenne V6. It runs with a 6-speed manual transmission with steering features that includes tilt, telescopic and 3-position memory steering columns. However, an optional upgrade of the transmission to six-speed Tiptronic automatic is available for the V6 trim. Adding up to its top performance are the independent double wishbone front suspension and independent multi-link rear suspension both with coil springs and sport ride type.

The fuel efficiency of V6 is better as it runs in 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg in highways compared to the average 12.5/19 mpg of the two more expensive V8 trims. Cayennes are built with air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) but a recently
