Is the Devil entirely an enemy of God?

by Gabe Willows

How could such a perfect creation go so terribly bad. Is the Devil entirely an enemy of God or just a prodigal son of God? To answer this question you have to think like God and you will find the answer. Devoid your entire mind of everything you've heard about the Devil and let's explore this thought with an entirely opened mind.

Let's go back to the dawn of creation. It is legend that God created the Ministering Angels first. They were the advisers and given freedom of choice about the operations of the universe. The greatest boast was that of the first born. He was the most spectacular of all Angels. He had the gift of music and composed all heavenly praise. He was the Morning Star, the Light. It's often thought that when God said "Let there be light." He came and illuminated the heavens while creation took place and until the sun was created.

Then man was to be created. This creature was to have free will and would not be compelled to love God like the Angels were, but given the freedom to choose to love Him; the one act of completely true love, with dominion over the entire world.

That's where the problem started. You have to admit that if you were the best of the best, you'd feel threaten by this new creature and the concept of love. What questions must have gone through his mind at the time, 'Will they be more divine that me? Will they be more beautiful? Will their love mean more to Father than mine?' Doesn't all this sound like sibling rivalry?

What is it called when you are envious of another? Oh yes, it's called jealousy, and there was no way that the first and most beautiful creation would agree that this new creation would become fellow servants of God.

Meanwhile, God knew there would be enough love for all; He knew that he would never stop loving his son's and any other creation. As a good parent should, He punished His son, not out of anger, but out of love. God is incapable of hating anything; He is pure love.

What if the Devil asked for forgiveness? What do you think God would do? If before the end of time, he whole hearted saw the wrong doing in what he did and asked his Father for forgiveness I'm sure God would forgive him. The Devil is not an enemy of God.

It is the Devil who chose to make God his enemy. He set himself out to prove that our love is not greater than his and will do anything to us to prove his point before then end of time. He lies, twists the truth, perverts the easily influenced and has set himself above all others in his field of perversion. He truly is our enemy, because he blames us for having taken away the love of his Father. His cause is a crime of passion.

Honestly, we are not in the position to judge this creature, or make a statement about how God feels about him; he is not our son.
