America tops the list of terrorist targets the world over. Arab terrorists have high-jacked planes loaded with innocent civilians, blown up boats, trains and buildings.
The most televised terrorist attack in history was the event of September 11th, 2001. Most adult Americans remember where they were when the towers fell.
But there have been many more attacks on the United States than that one. And not all of the terrorists were Muslim.
- Timothy McVeigh was an American fighting against his own government.
- Leon Czolgosz, the son of Polish immigrants and an anarchist, assassinated President McKinley in September 1901.
- The US Civil War had many acts of domestic terror culminating if the death of President Lincoln.
- Every attack by the Ku Klux Klan on Blacks and American Jews was an act of terror.
Most terrorists target America simply because it exists. The very wealth, strength and power both intimidates and engenders jealousy in hearts and minds around the world. Even some of our old friends and allies in Europe are happy to see us taken down a peg or two.
In a way, this is the heart of the terrorist rage in the Islamic world.
Many of the comments directed at America hardly apply. Osama bin Laden and his cronies frequently refer to the Americans as "crusaders" in their holy lands. America didn't even exist in the time of the crusades and has only a passing association with the countries that did.
In any case, to be historically accurate, the Muslims attacked Europe first (in 713 AD as opposed to the Crusades nearly four centuries later).
Modern hatred for America has two roots that feed the entire terror industry:
- American support for the state of Israel and,
- American wealth and prosperity.
The first might seem obvious to most since that is often the most spouted reason for attacks. The US was one of the original sponsors of the establishment of Israel and the first to recognize it as a state.
The Israelis have defeated repeated invasions from their Muslim neighbors primarily using American made weapons. They continue to exact punishment on Palestinian attackers with many of these same weapons.
Many in the Muslim world have concluded that Israel cannot stand without American support and protection.
The other side of the hatred stems from Allah's favor. Just as the Jewish holy book calls them God's Chosen People, the Koran calls the Muslim the chosen of Allah.
As the Chosen, they are the most blessed, the most gifted and the most favored of the one God to be envied the world over.
So how can it be that Americans live so well? How is it these infidels have accomplished so much? Was it a Muslim who first walked on the Moon or an American dog?
So much of the past century has been made by American hands, so much written in American bloodblood that declares freedom, democracy and liberty throughout the world. Yet, so few of us are Muslim.
If the Muslims are the favored of Allah well history seems to disagree. If the Muslims are wrong about that then they are wrong about everythingNEVER! The Americans must die!
See my point? This is more than an issue of ideology or oil. The bull's eye won't move off the American people until Islam replaces the US as the dominant power.
This is a fight to the death, only America is unaware of it. As long as the United States exists is has been and will continue to be a target for terrorists.
Fortunately, for us, the American response has been proportional thus far. The terrorists have no idea what kind of trouble they'd be in if they really got our attention.
They should ask the Japanese.
