GREAT CHRISTIAN FICTION BOOKS FOR TEENS
It is said that the average teenager watches approximately 24 hours of television each week - more than three hours a day. Though it may not seem like much, that time wasted with adult themes, profane language, and appalling violence adds up and shows itself in the watcher's attitude and behavior. Thankfully, despite the popularity of television, there are still those teens who enjoy reading. They love getting lost in the pages of beautiful words and intriguing plots. But even those teens who avoid reading at all costs can be pulled into a great story.
The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien, and The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis, are probably the most common picks for a good Christian book series, and rightfully so. It was, in fact, Tolkien's faith that brought Lewis to knowing Jesus, as well. Both authors desired to write fictional stories that would encompass their Christian beliefs. Twin brothers, Sandy and Dennys, are average boys who fit in society and do not relate well to Meg or Charles Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. Murray are both scientists whose work is often secretive. The other main character is Calvin O'Keefe, an older boy who stumbles upon Meg and Charles Wallace, being instantly pulled into their coming adventure.
As the story begins, Mr. Murray has been missing for some time. With the help of Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Which - three stars who gave their lives fighting against the Darkness - Meg, Charles Wallace, and their new acquaintance, Calvin, travel through time and space to save Mr. Murray. During their trip through the Tesseract, a wrinkle in time, the kids
