Collectible games are very popular amongst children these days, with Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh! as the lead games and love of all the youngsters. With how much money parents are spending on these games for their kids, it is about time that the companies that make them get smart and start making them into video games. It might have seemed like a brilliant idea for these companies to do this, but in the end, the games were boring and only really hardcore fans were the ones that went out and bought and played them.
You start with learning about the history of what is going on and which two sides are fighting and then after the introduction you have to choose a side to play on which determines what cards you will receive at the beginning of the game. Then you have the option to take the long tutorial or go right to the game. The tutorial, however being so long, gives you all the insight and rules into playing the card game.
Really all the game will come down to is cards and who is weaker and stronger. All you really do is place the cards on the board to defend yourself and fight your opponents. Most people who play think they need a strategy but in the end it only really matters what cards you are dealt and how you use them.
There is really no visual components to this game and it uses the play station poorly. They use 3-D graphics which are not that impressing and actually they look pretty boring. There is nothing super fantastic about the graphics at all. It is kind of like one of those old games your parents probably played and it is nothing to scream and shout over.
The music is just as if not worse than the graphics. It is a synthesizer and it is a low dull humming throughout the title and there is hardly any music throughout the game, but just be glad because once you hear it, you will be thankful. It is enough to make cats go screaming wild.
In general, this game is pretty awful and unless you or someone in your house is a huge fan of it, then it probably would not be worth getting. If you do, you will probably tire of it quickly as it really gets boring quite quickly. It might be good for entertaining younger children though, but do not let them get hooked on it! If you do, it might be the end, for all you will hear about is Yu Gi Oh! and that is not something that may be super thrilling to you, but when that is the only thing that comes out of your child's mouth, you will be sorry for every purchasing it for them. Just remember, there are other more entertaining, even child friendly games out there and you do not have to always setting for the card games.
