It's unfortunate that when asked if there are easy ways to make money online, most people respond with no as their answer. They respond this way simply because there has been so much press about scams that target those who want to make money by working out of their homes. While it's rare to hear about those who succeed at working from home, it does happen and it is possible to make a living to support yourself or just to supplement your income by working online.

One of the easiest ways to make money online is to open an online store. First you'll need to determine what you plan on selling. Do you have dropshipping contacts or would you like to house inventory in your own home? Do you have a service you can offer? Is there a craft or hobby that you already do that you can sell to others? Once you've decided what you plan to sell online, you can determine where you'd like to open your store. The easiest way to open an online store is to use a company that offers shopping cart templates and designs. This lets a company, like Yahoo.com, handle your credit card purchases, your shopping cart, and any technical issues that come up along the way. Predesigned online store fronts and shopping carts ensure that even the computer novice can sell their inventory or service online.

If you prefer not to actually sell a product online but still have a service to offer, freelancing may the right choice for you. Simply by typing the word freelancing into Google you get many actual services that allow those who know how to script, program, write or design to bid on projects from individuals and companies. Freelancing will allow you to keep a full time job and earn extra money based on your schedule, or work full time for other companies who need to outsource their work. Through freelancing you can control how long you work on a project and how much you bid on each project.

If you aren't for sure if you would be able to keep a strict schedule for freelancing projects, or if you would prefer to stay out of the online store business, you can still telecommute. Many companies offer data entry jobs for those who want to work from home, and there are even many companies who will allow you to work from home taking customer service calls. The easiest online jobs are ones that come from your very area. If you work for a company that's easily accessible, if or when you have problems you'll have someone available right away to have the issues fixed. You can use temporary hiring agencies to get the word out for you that you are interested in working from home. They'll do the searching for you and even prep you for your final interview.

One of the easier ways to earn money online without having to have customer service skills or bid on projects is simply creating your own website. This could be a blog, or a website dedicated to your favorite actor, or even a website devoted to antique cars! When you create your website, you can use Google Adsense to make money from each user who clicks ads, and you can sign up under affiliate programs to earn money each time someone makes a purchase through a link clicked from your site. If you don't advertise, it's unlikely you'll make much more than a few dollars, but with constant new blogs, articles and advertising you can create a constant flow of users.

With so many options, it is easy to find an option that suits everyone from the computer novice to the expert and it's easy to tailor an online business to suit your schedule and money needs. As long as you are willing to do the work, you can certainly expect a payoff.
