Hordes of the Underdark is an addition to Neverwinter Nights, it was built upon the concept of Dungeons and Dragons as a third person perspective game. It is a really entertaining role playing game. There is a lot of fantasy and imagination that can go into this game and it allows you to create so many wonderful characters.
The story in Hordes continues after the Shadows of Undrentide ends. You did not have to play Shadows to understand Hordes but it would be a lot more helpful if you started from the beginning of Shadows and continued into Hordes. This game is for a single player and has an amazing story to tell as well as fun and intricate puzzles to solve. The game is a decent length, not too short, but some say they wish it was longer because you get into the game so much and then it ends.
Hordes has added many extra levels so that your character can grow much more and acquire many more attributes. It is better then the other games because some of them you can only go up to level twenty and then it is over, so the added bonus levels allow for more expansion. It gives the character more attitude and more powers.
There are six classes to choose from, each with their own attributes and strengths to make their characters stronger and more noteworthy. There are new characters addition that you can put on, such as wings to make your character look more fierce. The head and body designs are also different and more unique and detailed. The detail that was put into these characters is phenomenal and very much better than the previous games that came before this one.
With this new game you can have the option to have two men travel with you, so this makes your abilities and tactics even stronger. You end up having more possibilities and can be more strategic against the enemy.
Hordes overcomes the few blemishes it has and it makes it a very interesting and 4 out of 5 star worthy. There are a lot of new enhancements in this game and a fantastic storyline for the characters. There is great actions too and the visual effects are pretty brilliant.
The only things that are bad about this game is that it is extremely hard to get it in to multi-mode and there is no Linux installer for it, but other than that, I would recommend anyone this game, for it is a really cool action role playing game! It allows for the imagination to be stretched and for maximum role playing.
