Today volunteering has become a significant part of most teenagers' life. People are given the opportunity to develop respect, not only for others but also for themselves. They are given the chance to exercise their values and they become an important part of the community. Over the last few years volunteering has increased and has brought about many positive changes in the world. Volunteering is beneficial to both the recipient and the person volunteering. It's the satisfaction of seeing a smile on someone's face, but also the priceless experience you can gain from it.

For many teens it is just a requirement schools request in order to graduate, but for others they choose to go beyond what they have to because they fell it's the right thing to do. Volunteering has become a trend. It is a way to show your belief and that you are capable of doing big things. All over the world teens are changing the way they are viewed. By volunteering adults are able to get a better understanding of how you feel, what you believe, and that you care about society. Some people perceive teens as negative impact on many levels. By helping out others, it proves that teenagers do have positive impact on society. Through volunteering you can learn how to become a better person, to take responsibility for your actions and grow as a human being.

Today more and more teens are reaching a stage where they realize that they can do so much to benefit others and themselves. There are so many things that that go on in the world, many things that not all people agree with. Whether its world hunger or global warming, if everyone stood around waiting for the problem to fix itself nothing would get done. Most people tend to take for granted what they have. What most people don't understand is that there are people who suffer everyday. Maybe they don't have a family, food or even clothing. What the world must realize is that people should share a piece of what they have with others. Volunteering will teach you to respect people different from you and the importance of working together to make the world a better place.

Volunteering is all about helping others and the feeling of accomplishment once you've made a difference. Whether it's bringing a smile to ones' face when you volunteer or changing their life completely, it doesn't matter, all that matters is that you set forward the idea of volunteering. It is a chance for you to show appreciation for what you have and who you are. With your spare time you can save one's life. Feed the poor at a soup kitchen, build a house for the homeless, because one day you will be able to say
you helped. Changing the world starts with one.
