Dental Health is one of the most important traits in a person concerning hygiene. Even though many people fear the dentist it is important to keep your teeth, gums and mouth clean. Especially if you are pregnant dental health is important because that baby takes away most of the calcium needed to keep your teeth strong. When I was pregnant with my second child that is what I most feared because I kept hearing that some people lose their teeth while being pregnant due to the lack of calcium. So I made sure I drank plenty of milk so all my teeth will still be in tact. Here are a few pointers to improve your dental health:
First, always brush your teeth after every meal and brush your teeth for at least five minutes. There are people who even brush their teeth in the ladies room at work. Nobody wants to talk to someone who has left overs in between their teeth plus it could give really rotten breathe.
Second, after brushing your teeth use mouth wash. The mouth wash is killing the germs that the tooth brush can not reach or get. Plus it leaves your breathe smelling minty.
Third, floss to make sure you have gotten anything that you may have gotten stuck between your teeth like corn on the cob which can get pretty annoying. Anything that gets stuck up in your teeth after while will eventually eat away at your teeth.
Finally, always watch what you eat, try to stay away from junk food or any sugar drink because that will create cavities and basically kill your teeth.
When you got to the dentist, you first get a basic teeth brushing, flossing and they have you brush with fluoride which is suppose to be very good for your teeth. The actual dentist sees you and what he is doing is checking for plaque and activities. He will try to remove the plaque with a special instrument and if you have any cavities, you will be scheduled to see him again to get fillings. Some dentists are rip offs like I went to one that malpractices on my mouth, he did two root canals wrong and one appointment all he did was brushing my teeth for me.
Every adult should go to the dentist once a year sometimes more depending on how bad your teeth are but it is important to go, because a tooth ache can be painful all over. Dentist is the one that makes sure you have a healthy mouth and a beautiful smile.
