I Saw Love Today

I saw love today as I was waking up
A butterfly was sitting on my windowsill
looking in my bedroom window at me

I saw love today on my way to work
an old man and a Little boy sharing an
ice cream cone,that had fallen in the dirt

I saw love today,in the elevator
the janitor was listening to the news
of the people from work and heard
he was doing a great job at cleaning
it looked like his heart was going to bust

I saw love today ,at the corner store
when the clerk helped a little old lady
reach the corn flakes box,you could see
the love shining through the old lady's eyes
for the help she had received
from this much younger guy

I saw love today as I sat in the park
between a mother and her child
as they sat there listening to Mozart

I saw love today as I walked on home
from the church across the street
as I listen about Gods way

I saw love today as I picked up a flower
and handed it to my mother who
I love every second,minute and hour

I saw love today as I looked at my child's face
I remember feeling the joy when he was born
the joy of when he first called me mom
and the joy of hearing him say I love you

I saw love today when the rain poured down
to water the flowers for us
and crops for the farmers

I saw love today after the evening rain
from the rainbow that stretched across
the sky for miles upon miles

I saw love today
with a woman's faint cry
as she gave birth to her child
a boy with brown eyes

I saw love today
as I looked at you
you looked back at me
and said I love you too

I saw love today
as my dog greeted me
as I walked through the door
his tail wagging and his little feet
jumping waiting to be petted from me once more

I saw love today
in the wee morning hours
as I watched my mom with my child
gently rubbing his head
with such care and devotion

I saw love today
in the flowers in my garden
with humming birds feeding
from the nectar of the flowers

I saw love today
in the barn just down the road
where cowboys and horses
were riding the range
with shorts and waves
and cattle running
laughter,whistles
wind blowing,horses snorting

I saw love today
in my fathers eyes
as he looked at my mother
and smiled

I saw love today
in my child's first breath
as he entered this world
with lungs screaming at their best

I saw love today
when my mother laid dying
waiting for the angels
to take her to be with my daddy
