To all concerned:
It is with a heavy heart that today I go vote. I am scared; and anyone who knows me well knows me not to be fearful. At the beginning of this election cycle I was truly excited. I saw a hope and a wonder I had not seen before; people my age registering to vote in record number, a man of integrity giving a speech upon the stair where Lincoln himself once stood, and an argument for what was right and just from my fellow country men. It is fifteen months past now, and after the withdrawal of several candidates of note (Rudy Guiliani for the republicans, Joe Biden for the Democrats, I would even say that John Edwards though I do not like his politics I respect his want for a better world and his honesty regarding his feelings toward gay marriage, was a note worthy candidate) and after finding a presumptive republican nominee (John McCain) two Democratic Candidates are left; Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. I have written previously of my contempt for Senator Clinton's antics regarding slanderous attacks and malicious advertising against Senator Obama especially since the advertisements presented and approved by Barack Obama are not attacking her at all but showing the imagination and hope of his campaign. This is why today I vote for Barack Obama. I have given rather clinical reasons to my family and other so called "conservatives" as to why I am voting for Barack Obama; because I could not vote in good conscience for a person who committed purgery and was not disciplined with a disbarment (i.e. Sen. Clinton), because he is noted as such a "liberal" senator the houses of congress would no doubt go back under republican control so that there would again be stagnation-as stagnation is better than progression in a poor direction, because I think he is a man that is smart enough to place and appoint people around him who will not necessarily agree with him (i.e. no more "yes" men cronies). These are clean reasons and just; however they are not entirely true of me. I do not mention that as a man I truly do regard him above most in that he has proven to be a man of integrity. I was discussing my reasons with someone who is leaning toward voting for John McCain in the fall, and his reasons for such a vote were as justified as my rationality for voting for Senator Obama. He did not laugh at me nor argue nor call me as I am sure to be called by most so called "conservatives" that I know "a liberal traitor" or a "hippie". He simply told me why he was leaning
