If society knew about the Christian books out on the market today, that are being targeted towards teenagers, they would throw a fit. Easy sex, money, and fame will not be encouraged by the many Christian books making an impact on teenagers. Instead, they are replaced with love, integrity, and faith. Below are a few books highly recommended for teenagers to help them become better prepared to face a sexually soaked world:
~To Help Set Standards~
Sex is not a simple form of pleasure but a God given gift to married couples as expressed in "Wait for Me" by Rebecca St. James, "Real Sex" by Lauren F. Winner, and "The Naked Truth" by Lakita Garth. These books help set the barriers for physical intimacy before marriage. They contain truth and insight taken from the Bible and apply them in a way that is easy to understand by teenagers. These books help set the boundaries that can ultimately determine a teenagers future.
~To Make the Right Choices~
"I Kissed Dating Goodbye" by Joshua Harris has encouraged thousands of teenagers to set the dating scene aside and focus on finding a Godly spouse instead. It supports a "new attitude towards romance and relationships." Joshua wrote this book at age 21, which has inspired many teenagers to "kiss dating goodbye." The book also contains many truth-to-life stories that better help explain how dating can lead to undesired conclusions. It is a must-read for any teenagers stepping about to out into the dating scene.
~To Train the Mind and Heart~
"Every Young Man's Battle" fosters young men to clean up their minds and rid them of dirty thoughts, which promote temptation. The book teaches them to train their minds and eyes while developing a "battle plan" to remain sexually pure until marriage. "The authors, Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker, offer young Christian men workable, biblical strategies for achieving sexual purity," states reviews by christianbook.com.
~To Remain Pure~
"Before You Meet Prince Charming" by Sarah Mally challenges every young woman to remain sexually pure until marriage by introducing a captivating fairy tale with modern day examples, practical instruction, and humor. This "guide to radiant purity" also offers Biblical answers to everyday questions regarding temptations and everyday struggles.
~To Not be Led Astray~
"Sexy Girls: How Hot is Too Hot" by Hayley DiMarco is honest look at everything considered "sexy" to teenage girls. From clothing to makeup, and self-preservation to body image, it offers a complete look on how to become an approachable yet modest young woman. Hayley touches on three main issues being; why little things called hormones affect the way guys look at girls, what girls are really saying by the way they dress, and what God thinks about teens trying to be sexy. This book is the perfect guide for teenage girls on how to dress and act in a Godly manner.
These books, along with many others, offer helpful, encouraging insight and tips on the struggle teenagers face today. A few other Christian books that teenagers should check out are: "For Young Women Only" by Shaunti Feldhahn, "Love, Sex, and God" by Bill Ameiss, and "Every Teenager's Little Black Book on Sex and Dating" by Blaine Bartel. Encouraging our teenagers to learn what God has perfectly planned for their lives will help them better understand what choices to make along the way to adulthood.
