The Rainbow
I stopped believing in the story, I was told,
about how at the end of the rainbow, lies a pot of gold.
For many years I followed them around,
but, I never found one that touched the ground.
There was no treasure, like everyone said,
it was just a fairytale, to tell children
when it was time for bed.
I never understood why people would say such things,
until I read in the bible about the promise God made.
How he would never flood the world, to destroy us again,
then he placed a mark across the sky, done with his own hand.
So when your done searching and you don't find what you expect,
don't forget how much that Rainbow really meant.
How he placed it up in the sky,
a treasure it's self, if only to the eye

Poetry: Rainbows
by Roy Blokker
Teardrops echo like rainbows
Through a canyon.
A thousand thousand tears
When storm clouds gather, and
the chilling rain pours down;
and even the tallest and the strongest trees
stand, battered.
When
by Linda Irish
Given Time
Ever notice looking through a tear,
Light reflects a rainbow?
At desperate times, wonder still exists,
The sign of
Rainbows and rivers
Never to meet
Clouds of frustration
Lovers so
sweet
Sunshine mirrored
Reflections erased
Winds caressing the
Rainbow,
Gazing into the heaven
I see only your face
Longing for your touch
Held in an embrace
Colourful enchantments
Gentle
