A business plan is a set of strategies to make your business a success, and give it the profits needed to build it over the years. Too often people start a small or homebased business with the business plan in the mental state, and the owner of the business uses some but not all parts of the plan. Take the time to write out your business plan before you even start the business. It will give you an excellent framework of needed ideas and strategies you need to stay ahead of your competition. You can be successful in your business, use your business plan to succeed. l. Your business plan is really your Personal Business Mission Statement. This includes your own ideas on how you can make your business publishing business the best on in the world. Include in you plan why you are the best person to run the business, and what skills, talents, and abilities your offer to your business. 2. Success happens in your business when you get sufficient sales into the business. How many sales do you expect in your first year? How many by week, and month? This is your target goal. What are your expenses? What will it cost to publish each book from start to finish? 3. How much money you need to finance your business for the first 6 months, one year, two years, or more? Your business needs money to run your business successfully, you need to finance it, to compete with other publishers all over the world. 4. Selling and marketing your books is essential. Where will you sell your books, CD's, and ebooks? Do you have connections to get them into bookstores
