Even In My Dreams
Last night I had A dream,
I dreamed that you were here,
but, when I tried to touch you,
you quickly disappeared.
Forever without you,
that's the way it seems,
cause I can not hold you,
even in my dreams.
I awoke with a sadness,
deep in side my heart,
not knowing how much longer,
we would have to be apart.
I know America needs you,
over in Iraq and that,
when you joined the service,
war could some day be a fact.
Maybe I'm being selfish,
I really do not care,
all that I can think of,
is how much I need you here.
So, I pray for God to protect you,
to keep you safe from harm,
and that he will bring you back to me,
back where you belong.
