For those who believe the Bible, the Bible is trustworthy. For those who do not believe the Bible, it is still faithful to God's word, but the people will not see or understand the faithfulness. From the very first sentence to the very last sentence, the Bible is worthy of trust to guide us in wisdom for our life decisions, to protect us, and to provide for us. The Bible is God speaking to many prophets and commanding them to write what He says so future generation will know His guidance so they can receive the blessings of God and not the cursings.
The word of God is a law for our world. It is a law that cannot fail; that means it is trustworthy. He blesses what He commands; when we follow it, our life and our community will prosper. When we ignore or reject His commands, then we do not have His blessings covering us and we turn our world into bondage and strife as it is now. God doesn't change; Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8. He is the word of God. God is fair and just; and He cannot lie. Those who honor His every word will be able to guide mankind to His true prosperity.
Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word out of the mouth of God." In Matthew 5:17-20 he said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 5:18 For verily I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." They were the writings through Moses and other prophets and Jesus said in another place, "If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." Luke 16:31. This is not what Christians are following. We need to follow what is clearly written or we cannot see His powerful guidance.
Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 are similar chapters where God details His promises for blessings for obedience: you will have rain in due season, your land shall yield its food, your people and animals will be strong, healthy and reproduce easily; and He will give us peace. We can see we are at war; fire, storms, flooding and drought are destroying crops, homes, and lives. We have energy crisis, food crisis, pollution, global warming, social security and health care needs, immigration, crime, immorality, unwanted children and abortion. These are not blessings, and prove we are going the wrong way.
