To suppose the Bible cannot be used as part of scientific literature is a great error. Nor is it correct to suppose that people we now call great scientists didn't get inspired to search out something because of what they read in the Bible. The foundation of many sciences begins with the understanding that there is order in the universe.
Scientific explorations of outer space had a foundation in the knowledge of Bible statements regarding the sun, moon and stars. Even astrology and astronomy and astrophysics, archaeology and its various fields, and others are some of the sciences that were inspired by people who believed what they read in the Bible. Those interested in science and proving the Bible have an abundance of facts and data supporting the various aspects of God's creation; and these lead to other understanding valuable in research. One example is Hugh Ross an astrophysicist of ReasonsToBelieve.org.
If science embraced the Bible as scientific literature, we would have greater knowledge of the laws of this earth. We are limited by what we believe. The Bible records Jesus and angels have gone into heaven without a spacesuit or spaceship. He healed the sick instantaneously and raised the dead. He restored sight and hearing; the lame walked and the dumb spoke. What kind of science was he telling us we have? "Be it unto you according to your faith." This science is far superior to what we limit ourselves to.
What information were the ancients willing to accept that allowed them to build pyramids and Stonehenge and bridges that are a wonder to various sciences in our generation?
They must have remembered that God had man do mighty things like part the Red Sea and the Jordan River so people could walk across on dry ground. They might have remembered that time turned back on a sundial and the earth was not destroyed. Perhaps they remembered the plagues God sent on Pharaoh but kept His people and their cattle safe.
We should be willing to acknowledge that the Bible can be scientific literature. In Hebrew 11:3 God says, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." If people would believe every word of God, we would figure out things that would make us look like great scientists in the eyes of present day scientists.
We shouldn't become awed by the word scientist; it is a relatively new word, being penned in 1833 by William Whewell. It wasn't well accepted until
