Innocent Hurting Heart

The winds of time blows him out of my life,
leaving me hollow and laboring during the day.
I thought at one point I would be his wife,
never knew another woman stood in the way.

Outburst's rage as he's swept into another's arms,
causing darkness, agony, and stinging in my heart.
Why did he deceive and leave me in total alarm,
when he knew the ending from the actual start.

Deceitfulness left me smarting and reacting in shame,
I'm not a cheater nor one who ought to feel any guilt.
His lies won me over by not revealing to me her name,
leaving me to sense a sizable amount of immortal filth.

I stand in the gusts and the rains to purify my soul,
cleansing his lies, scheming ways, and my heavy load.
I feel ashamed of the disgrace he's brought into my life,
I'm struggling for absolution as I get to my crossroads.

The journey is difficult and at times hard to bare,
I'd in no way hurt another woman or cause any pain.
His load will get heavier in all of his cares,
I'm an innocent bystander swept up in the shame.
