previous year but a solid 12pts and 6rpg will ensure him a job in the NBA even at 6'7
SF - Kirk Snyder; 4th year 8.4 Points per game and 4.2 rebounds
Snyder was brought over from the Rockets in a trade for Gerarld Green and was thought to solidify the Small Forward position or at least put in quality minutes for Ryan Gomes to slide down from Power Forward and allow rookie Corey Brewer (5.8ppg, 3.7rpg) to grow into the role. None of the plans turned out as hoped as Kirk only started 18 games and appeared in 27 this year.
SG- Rashad McCants; 3rd year 14.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game
McCants has had a tough year since leaving the University of North Carolina, bouncing in and out of the rotation and on and off the injured list. This year, McCants finally showed some of what made him the 14th overall pick in 2005, Starting 24 games and playing in 75. Rashad is still going to be fighting for minutes with Marko Jaric, Randy Foye and Snyder.
PG Randy Foye 2nd year; 13.1 Points 4.2 Assists and 0.9 Steals per game
Randy was traded in the draft for Brandon Roy who went on to be rookie of they year and spent the bulk of his rookie year buried on the bench, but showed flashes of what made him such a high pick at Villanova. But with the departure of Mike James and Coach Dwane Casey and the hiring of Randy Wittman midway through the season Randy was able to show what he could do with playing time and make the All-Rookie Team. This year Randy was much improved but was hurt starting only 31 of 39 games he played- meaning most of the starts fell too Boston traded Sebastian Telfair (9.3ppg, 5.9apg and 1.0spg)
Moving so many players and having most of the holdovers such as Foye and Snyder hurt all year, it is a credit to Coach Wittman and the broad shoulders of Al Jefferson that the T-Wolves were able to win as many games as they did including knocking off teams such as the Phoenix Suns (TWICE), Utah Jazz (TWICE), Orlando Magic, and the 76ers this year.
Minnesota has the third-best chance to win the lottery this year- and also have the 31st and 34th overall pick as well. Plus in upcoming drafts Minnesota received Miami's 2009 first round pick (lottery protected in 2008, top 10 in 2009, top 6 in 2010, beyond: unprotected. From the Ricky Davis trade) and Boston's 2009 first round pick (top 3 protected from the Kevin Garnett trade). So they could be looking at 3 first round picks next year.
