Time is that thing that makes your emotions go numb

Time is but a measure of what you truly know
Time is what you make of it so I've been told
Time is all you want once you have gotten old
Time is of the essence if that is what you want
Time is torture when your memories start to haunt
Time is joy as you watch your children start to grow
Time is nothing more than pain when it is passing by so slow
Time is but a fable that we all agree is there
Time is not of substance it doesn't really care
Time is heartless leaving us all to rot away
Time is ageless and will leave us all to lay
