Few tears will be shed
While remembering the one
Who walked among us
But was never really there
Intangible traces
Of mere existence remain
Stirring a memory
Yet they awaken nothing
Little more than shadow;
Visible, untouchable
Making no impression
Upon the world's reality
Infinite depths lie waiting
Ready to share the secrets
Of an incomprehensible universe;
No one reaches beyond the shallows
How pitiful that such a one
Was too selfish to see
The world deserved more than
Her mere existence

Poetry: Self-reflection
The defiant girl
using lies and mental games
to face down an abusive, drunk man
- calling himself a father -
The confused young
In my dreams, people fly.
They soar and swoop
laughing, calling
to each other, the birds,
the sky.
They race the clouds,
then
The Missing Piece
Doubling back to where
I was just standing,
I forget what it was
that I needed.
My brain is working
overtime-it

A Window To My World
Here is a window, a bearing of soul
Look inside, God plays the leading role
Through defeat and success
