I recently met a friend for lunch, she was complaining about aches and pains and the increasing need for painkillers.
She is an artist and said her thumb joint had recently developed stabbing pains making it very difficult to hold her brushes and palette, also her elbows were aching. "Tennis elbow" she said ruefully "but I don't play tennis."
"I know what you mean". I said "I had housemaid's knee not so long ago."
Knowing me very well she laughed.
"You're kidding of course, but it's not funny. Do you still have it?"
"No, quite by chance I started taking ginger supplements to help with travel sickness and I noticed over a few days my sore knee disappeared as well as one or two other niggling pains in my fingers. Try it - two or three capsules a day is all it takes for me. I've been taking it for a few years now and my joint mobility has improved tenfold."
A couple of weeks later she called me. "Thanks for the ginger tip, my hands are much better - I owe you one. Next lunch is on me."
