Poetry: A day in my life

by Lisa Martens

Created on: May 04, 2008

Brick brain
brick of tasks
a list so long it
doesn't exist.

I wish my head
was a TV screen
static-charged and
never clean.

I wish I didn't write
to the tunes
stuck in my head.

Brick brain
If I lean too far forward
the brick will fall
shatter my TV screen head
the static will stop
the static will churn.

I'm not dead and I'll
never learn.
I'm dead because I learned.
I'm not dead and I'll
never learn.
