The health benefits of flaxseed

Flax seed is an excellent source of essential fatty acids, providing omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids in good ratio. The ground flax seed provides and excellent source of dietary fiber and a bulking agent which helps proper bowel movement.
Omega oils are very important in supporting brain health, skin health, Cardio-vascular heath and joint health.
They are essential for immune support and cell health too.

Lack of Alpha linolenic acid (ALA), A major source of omega 3 (DHA) can lead to low formation of DHA, which is a Major component of brain. The deficiency of DHA can cause early senility and poor cognitive function.

Deficiency of essential fats is the main cause of many skin disorders including eczema.These fats contribute the overall helath of skin aswell as acting as an anti inflammatory, which privents eczema.

Omega 3s have been shown in many studies to lower cholesterol levels in the blood.

Omega 3 fats and 6 fat are very important to tackle inflammations especially joints by promoting joint flexibility and mobility with lubrication. Omega 6 fatty acid supplimentation gives instant results in inflammatory conditions. But this can eventually lead in to imbalance of omega oils. Flax oil provides all the omegas in a balanced form.

To reduce autoimmune responses like arthritis, omega 3 oils are found to be very good. A Zinc supplimentation promotes well balanced immune system.

Cell membrane integrity is very essential for cell health.Because this is the path way nutrients as well as wastes. Poor essential fat intake can reduce this and can cause cell damage. Studies shown that high intake of omega 3 fatty acids can reduce cell proliferation.

There are many different ways you can take flax seed. Cold milled flax seed is the best form. Heat will kill all the goodness in the seeds. Sprinkle it over on your cereals, salads etc. If you take the whole seeds its hard to digest. Soaking overnight is another way to help it digest properly.
Good first cold pressed flax seed oil can also be used as a salad dressing or in the smoothies etc. Never cook with the flax oil.
Flax seed is the gift of nature for its animals for a better health.
