I think online studies can be successful .In the days when I was enrolled for my M.phil histo-pathology course, the concept of online studies was not clear, at least its applicability.Mine was a two year course. The first half of my first year M.phil passed perfectly well.It was in the second half that I was rendered irregular due to health matters and certain private problems .Now I have been following non-tech

Experience of online studies, and I am convinced if I had it in my days, I would have completed my M.phil studies. My subjects were histo-pathology, biochemistry and microbiology.I believe all these can be studied online.Virtual microscope has been tested and tried in the University of Iowa College of Medicine.Microbiology and biochemistry practicals can be closely studied through Computer Assisted Learning.Online lectures can be arranged I know.Self assessment of learning program can be done.Interactive discourses can take place readily and any problem solving can be done. That leaves me with a year of research field work (my personal presence required)associated with writing my hypothesis.I am sure with the load of M.phil subjects off my back through online facility;I could have devoted this time easily to my "thesis ".I do realise that you cannot conduct the entire gamut of a basic medical science' subject degree course online .But, the online program package, to assist in any given graduate/postgraduate course, tailor made to help one' s needs to overcome one's weaknesses and double one's strengths ARE please focus on this magnified (imagined) word:POSSIBLE .And please accept the possibility as part and parcel of our total mode of studies in this day and age.And please get it noted- many students are "theorists " by nature. They may never be tech oriented. So an expert IT aided scholars research support helpline for their particular course, and specifically for the student himself, would be constantly made available. This will make it a close knit affair:the student, his Laboratory, his digital library, and the world of "yellow pages"(for procuring equipment , spare parts, services for testing and calibration so on and...._ well tell me ! Is a student supposed to study or be a seasoned "bargainer"? I hated the implications and thought them to be time wasting.I have not heard anyone complain about shopping .Guess it is just me. The odd one out)-so that his course work can proceed smoothly and get completed.
